TUI Mobile Travel Companion Mallorca launched
2009-07-01: TUI Mobile Travel Companion Mallorca launched. Using a mobile phone application developed by Campagnon, TUI tests a mobile travel companion. In addition to an itinerary inclusive of information on the accommodation and booking, the mobile travel companion also includes an updateable weather forecast, travel tips, a tourist guide, maps (amongst others on the hotel vicinity), contact data of the travel agency (inclusive of an SMS callback feature), a small dictionary and information on the local representatives of the tour operator.
The mobile phone application was developed by Campagnon, based on the product TOURIAS tips&deals, for TUI in Germany. The "Activating Travellers System" (ATS) by Campagnon is also used to manage and send SMS campaigns. Amongst other things, ATS can be used to forward messages to the mobile travel companion, which will then be opened automatically.
